  2013, A NEW SEASON APPROACHES

  Ever since our return to work in January, the fruit team have been busy planting & preparing for another busy summer. Our first pick of new season strawberries is expected from late March which is only 6 weeks away. The winter has been long & very wet & Spring seems reluctant to burst just yet. Nonetheless our programme remains on track & we have no indication, so far, that cropping will be delayed; in any event as growers we always remain optimistic. Whilst we take no pleasure in observing the current issues regarding sourcing in the food chain, it emphasises the significance of British production with all the inherent traceability that implies. No where is that more evident than in the soft fruit sector; our customers demand & deserve the consistent quality & safety that British growers provide. We can't wait to deliver that first real taste of summer!

  OPEN FARM SUNDAY 2013, 9TH JUNE

  The NFFC will again be opening the farm gates for this very popular day. An opportunity for all the family to find out first hand about modern food production, taste some of our produce & have a generally great fun day out in the countryside. Last year we had over 300 visitors, in 2013 we are hoping to break that record. So why not make an early note in your diaries to come & visit us on Sunday 9th June. we will be advertising directions & times nearer the date.
